L.A. Dodgers Player James Loney Catches a Break in DUI Case

This past November, James Loney – the L.A. Dodgers’ first baseman – was arrested for driving under the influence and crashing his Maserati into three different cars. According to the police report, Loney’s behavior at the scene of the accident was bizarre. He exhibited eye tremors, and his shirt was soiled from perspiration. When police initially tried to conduct a breathalyzer test, Loney allegedly spit the mouthpiece back at the officers.

Loney was arrested on suspicion of DUI. However, when a blood sample was taken, the toxicology report came back negative for drugs and alcohol. Because of this fact, prosecutors have finally rejected the case. The L.A. City Attorney’s Office officially stated yesterday that they have decided not to pursue the case because of the lack of evidence.
