"Home Improvement" Star Charged with DUI, Drug Possession

Taran Noah Smith, the former childhood star of the television show “Home Improvement,” has been charged with DUI and possession of marijuana, according to TMZ.com.

Smith was arrested in L.A. County on February 1, when police officers saw him in a Honda Accord, stopped in front of a fire hydrant. When the officers approached Smith, they smelled marijuana in the car.

Smith played youngest son “Mark” on Home Improvement, which ran from 1991 to 1999. Now 27, Smith has largely stayed out of the spotlight since his role alongside Tim Allen.

Smith faces two misdemeanor charges. If convicted, he may spend up to a year and a half in jail and face $1,500 in fines.
