Heroin Lollipops Discovered in Luggage at Orlando Airport

This past Friday, over 3.2 kilograms of heroin was discovered inside of a man’s luggage at Orlando International Airport. The 45-year-old man was arrested shortly after he arrived at the airport on a TACA Airlines flight from El Salvador. The flight had originated in Guatemala.

According to customs officials, the man seemed very nervous upon his arrival and was “sweating profusely,” so they referred him to a secondary check. Officials then found 172 lollipops packed inside of his duffel bag, each one containing 18.8 grams of heroin. Overall, the bag contained 3.2 kilograms of the illegal drug

The man told Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities that he was given the duffel bag by an anonymous man at a gas station in Guatemala City early Friday morning – along with a plane ticket, hotel booking info, and $500. He is currently being held in the Seminole County jail without bond.
