14 People Arrested for Prescription Drug Offense


A ring of clinics which appear to all be part of the same pill mill operation in Florida were shut down yesterday. Fourteen people were arrested for drug offenses stemming from this incident.

The investigation began in November of 2010 when the Drug Enforcement Administration was informed of a suspiciously large number of narcotic prescriptions being written at a pain clinic, according to FOXNews.com. As an undercover investigation ensued, investigators discovered more clinics that were part of the same operation.

Seven doctors and seven owners have been arrested. Allegedly, two of the owners are Florida firefighters.
