Red Sox Pitcher Apologizes for DUI

In a statement yesterday, Red Sox pitcher Bobby Jenks apologized for any "distractions" his DUI arrest may have caused his team, according to an Associated Press story. This past Friday, Jenks was pulled over by police officers in Fort Myers, Florida because he was driving erratically. Jenks told the police officer he had taken too many muscle relaxers. Then, Jenks told the police officer he had fled a strip club after hitting another vehicle with his own.

Erratic or otherwise abnormal driving can be the reason a police officer pulls you over, even if you are not intoxicated. The police officer may ask you to perform a field sobriety test. You can be arrested for DUI if the police officer has reason to believe you are intoxicated.

An officer may pull you over if you are:

  • Swerving
  • Driving too slow
  • Driving outside of your lane
  • Failing to signal your turns

If you are arrested for DUI, an experienced defense lawyer can resolve your case while protecting your rights.

If you have been arrested for DUI in Osceola, Seminole, Orange County, Orlando or the surrounding Central Florida areas, please contact the experienced defense lawyers at the Umansky Law Firm to schedule a free and confidential consultation.
