Florida Teen has Three DUIs in Three Weeks

An 18-year old Tampa teen has been arrested three times within 17 days for DUI and a handful of other charges. Previously, she had made bail each time, but yesterday Circuit Judge Denise Pomponio revoked her bail during a hearing regarding the young woman's drug charges. In a separate hearing for the DUI charges, another judge has denied a prosecutor's request to revoke bail.

The young woman faces DUI charges as well as felony drug offense charges. This past February, she was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to KRIS Channel 6 News. She had only a learner's permit and was driving without an adult in the car.

On March 11, she was arrested again for DUI and possession of marijuana. She made bail and was arrested the next day for DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is currently being held without bail while she awaits two hearings next week.

Allegedly, the young woman claimed she had not been drunk when she was driving, but she does say she was high. Following both of her arrests in March, her blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.00. Definitive results are pending a urine test.
