Perry has ordered Casey Anthony to serve one year probation for check fraud. She has until August 26 to turn herself in. Anthony has been in hiding the last four weeks following her acquittal of murdering her daughter.

The Florida Department of Corrections allowed Anthony to serve her probation while in Orange County Jail, which was not what the judge had intended. Judge Perry wrote in his order, "To permit the Defendant, whose counsel was well aware that the probation was to begin upon the Defendant's release from jail, to avoid serving probation now, would take a lawfully imposed sentence and make it a mockery of justice."

As with any other person on probation, Anthony must provide her address. However, due to concerns for her safety, Judge Perry told the Department of Corrections it may keep her location confidential, and that her address is not to be shared with the public.

Anthony's rules for probation will include:

• Working a lawful occupation and supporting any dependents she may have to the best of her ability
  
• Her probation officer must be allowed to visit Anthony at home, work, or elsewhere
  
• Must not consume alcohol to the point she is impaired
  
• May not change her residence, employment or leave the county where she resides without first getting consent from her probation officer
