T.I. and Wife Face California Marijuana Charge
Rapper T.I. and his wife were arrested after police allegedly smelled marijuana coming from their vehicle late Wednesday night in Los Angeles, California. They were pulled over on Sunset Boulevard and arrested for possession of a controlled substance. It hasn't been announced which specific drug the two allegedly possessed that lead to their arrest.
T.I. was released from a Georgia halfway house in March where he spent three months for federal weapons charges. He spent seven months in an Arkansas federal prison prior to this for the same charge.
While possession of marijuana is a misdemeanor charge in California, the fact that T.I. is still on probation may be a problem for him. However, because the drug charge does not specify which drug the two possessed, things could be much worse for T.I. and his wife.
In Florida, possession of marijuana is a misdemeanor if 20 grams or less, but there is still a chance for a year in jail and a $1000 fine. More than 20 grams is a felony in Florida, and means jail time and a large fine.
If you have been charged with drugs in the Orange County or Orlando, Florida area, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the experienced criminal defense attorneys at the Umansky Law Firm today.
