Ronald Cummings Sentenced for Drug Trafficking
Ronald Cummings, father of missing Haleigh Cummings, was sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered to pay $250,000 in fines for his part for alleged drug trafficking.
Cummings pleaded guilty past month to three counts of trafficking hydrocodone. Two of these counts were later dropped as part of the plea agreement and he has agreed to provide "truthful testimony" in future cases. This includes anything about his missing daughter who disappeared in February 2009 when she was five-years-old.
Misty Croslin, Ronald Cummings, one-time girlfriend/wife was also arraigned on drug trafficking charges in the same case. She pleaded no contest to six counts of trafficking in hydrocodone and two counts of trafficking in oxycodone. She may be going to prison for a very long time.
Croslin was allegedly at home the night Halgeigh disappeared.
For two people who were connected to one of Florida's most recent high-profile missing person cases, one would think these two would not want to maximize further exposure. Because Croslin was home when Haliegh disappeared, she was already being judged by the media and the public. Getting arrested for drug trafficking certainly did not help her case.
