In Colorado Springs, Colorado, a police operation ended an alleged drug ring using a chicken restaurant as its base. In addition to the local police, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies were involved in arresting two brothers. They are looking for eight others they allege had some involvement. Police seized over $30,000 worth of crack and powder cocaine and $21,000 in cash.

It is alleged that the drugs were filtered through a street gang and then sold out of one of the suspect’s restaurant to people posing as customers. The two brothers are alleged by police to be the source of the drug-trafficking operation that involves several other people.

The sting was the result of an operation in which a police source gave the cell phone numbers to officers. Calls were intercepted and information gathered. The two brothers were allegedly caught in the act.

Technology is great, but what many on the other side of the law fail to remember is that this technology, such as cell phones, is often the reason for their downfall. Intercepting and tracking calls is only part of what authorities can do to find those who are eventually charged with drug trafficking. This isn’t an activity only seen on television shows.
