Large Pot Bust on Florida Turnpike

It may not be the largest pot bust in recent Florida history, but this shows that Florida highways continue to be a major way to transport drugs around the state. Police in Osceola County recently conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of 201 pounds of marijuana.

The driver was allegedly driving on expired tags, and could not provide proof of insurance of registration. The police searched the driver's vehicle where they found the marijuana.

Many people believe marijuana to be one of the most harmless of all the illegal drugs. Whatever your personal beliefs are, the fact of the matter is that marijuana is not legal, and therefore you will be charged with possession or trafficking. In fact, prosecutors continue to be actively engaged with many drug cases in the central Florida areas of Osceola, Orlando, and Orange counties. You will be charged with felony possession if you are caught with 20 grams or more of marijuana on you in the state of Florida.

Any drug charge can seriously curtail any future plans you might have. However, an experienced drug offense attorney can help you through this sometimes confusing and frightening time, and will be someone you can count on for legal advice.

If you have been charged with drug possession in Orlando or Orange County, Florida, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the Umansky Law Firm for an initial and confidential consultation.
