Petit Theft Charges Dropped and Expunged

The Umansky Law Firm has recently worked with several clients to have their charges dropped and then expunged from their records. Two of these recent cases concern the charge of theft.

In the first case, our client, who is a case worker, was accused of stealing an item from the store. She was able to get the case dropped and then hired the Umansky Law Firm to expunge her record. The Umansky Law Firm filed a petition to expunge the record, which was heard before a judge. After the hearing, the court agreed with the attorney's arguments to expunge the record.

In the second case, the client was arrested by the Apopka police department for allegedly stealing perfume from a department store. Attorney William Umansky was able to convince the state of Florida to admit the client into a pretrial diversion program. The client completed the program and was ultimately able to get the charges dropped. Attorney William Umansky was then hired to have the record expunged, which was granted by the court.

In both cases, the clients are able to lawfully deny that they have not been arrested or charged with the crime of petty theft subject to certain exceptions.

If you have been charged with theft or shoplifting in Orange County or Orlando, Florida, or anywhere else in the state of Florida, please contact the Umansky Law Firm for an initial and confidential consultation.
