Guitar Hero Pleads “No Contest” to Driving Drunk
Bon Jovi guitarist, Richie Sambora, has struck a deal with prosecutors following his arrest for DUI last month in California. Just hours after prosecutors filed drunken driving charges against him, Sambora pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. The DA decided to drop a second charge (driving under the influence of alcohol).
Sambora was sentenced to three years of informal probation, three months of first-offender alcohol awareness class and court fees. He also cannot have any measurable amount of drugs or alcohol in his system while driving during his probation. Sambora, at the time of his arrest, had two children and one woman in the car with him.
