Probation Violation is a Serious Matter
Once it has been proven that you have violated your probation, either on purpose, or through circumstances beyond your control, a judge will examine the severity and impose punishment. You also do not have the right to a trial by jury for a violation. The judge might set a bond, but is not required to do so, meaning that you could be kept in jail for longer than you originally thought.
You need to know that, beyond what violations might be obvious to you, the severity of your probation violation will affect the way you are sentenced if you are caught. Your probation might be extended, or you might go to prison.
If you find yourself caught violating probation in Florida, the first thing you should do is consult an experienced probation lawyer. Do not admit to the violation until you have spoken with your lawyer. You should also know that your lawyer’s experience could mean the difference in getting the violation dropped or going to prison.
If you are in the Orlando, Florida area and have been accused of a probation violation, please contact the law offices of The Umansky Firm. The Umansky Firm will be able to answer your questions and guide you through the legal system once you have scheduled an initial consultation.
