EVIDENCE GETS SUPPRESSED-CHARGES DROPPED

Yesterday, Attorney Gary Schwartz of the Umansky Law Firm won his motion to suppress in front of an Osceola county Florida circuit judge. The client whose name will remain confidential to protect his identity was charged with possession of controlled substance. Mr. Schwartz argued to the court that the police illegally detained the defendant and therefore committed an unlawful search and seizure under the Fourth Amendment to the Florida State Constitution. The Judge agreed and suppressed the evidence. As a result, the State of Florida did enough evidence to proceed to trial and had to drop the charges of possession of marijuana over twenty grams and possession of drugs with intent to sell.
